Cleaning the famous crater brought a moment that made people both laugh and feel touched at the same time. The travertine crater in Kráter Vyšné Ružbachy is one of the largest natural travertine ponds in Slovakia and is also unique in Central Europe. It’s located in the Vyšné Ružbachy Spa area and has been attracting spa guests and tourists for decades. The mineral water in the crater stays around 23 degrees Celsius all year round, so the pond doesn’t freeze even during harsh winters. The water is rich in minerals, which constantly and naturally form travertine and change the shape of the crater's walls.

In the heart of the spa at Stará Ľubovňa, a new artwork called Circles of Life has been added. The piece reflects the different stages of human life – past, present, and future – and at the same time symbolizes a new beginning. The well-known crater in Vyšné Ružbachy is empty. They drained the water because it was time for cleaning. The bottom of the travertine pond in the crater was already full of mud. But they also found some interesting objects in it. The travertine pond in the middle of the crater in Vyšné Ružbachy is famous far and wide. People like to swim in it – even though it's not allowed, no one chases them out of the crater. The water is highly mineralized, and many believe it has beneficial effects.
