The construction of the Casino (White House) is associated with Count Jan Kanty Zamoyski and his wife, the Spanish Infanta Isabella de Bourbon. The Zamoyskis contributed to the fundamental reconstruction of the spa in the 1930s and 1940s. The coats of arms of the Zamoyski and Bourbon families above the dining room windows still commemorate the patrons of the building.
The building was constructed by the renowned architect Jozef Kováč (Kovács) between 1931 and 1933. The impressive appearance of the building is the result of a unique combination of architectural elements inspired by historical styles, with a predominance of Baroque references. The imposing effect is enhanced by a high colonnade, which illusively extends the proportions of the single-story facade to monumental dimensions.
This majestic structure, which was the most luxurious spa building in the first half of the 20th century, is reminiscent of the heyday of Vyšné Ružbachy. It is built on a rocky cliff above the park and was allegedly inspired by one of the palaces in Monte Carlo, which the count often visited. The White House building, situated in an exceptional location on top of a travertine hill, is the central dominant feature of the spa park in Vyšné Ružbachy.
This unique building, sensitively set into the rugged terrain, is designed to be seen from a distance. Since 1963, the building has been a national cultural monument of Slovakia.
